Why does my face sometimes look wider in a camera photo than in a mirror?

Mirror vs camera – the difference can give slightly varying proportions of face. A camera will take a photo of your face at a certain distance and angle, and another mirror will display a reflection of your face from your viewing angle, according to Visuals Clipping. The features may also appear differently depending on the lens characteristics especially when the lens is close to a subject’s face. Lighting, posture, and expression can also play a role here and a picture doesn’t always reflect exactly what you’re used to seeing when you look in the mirror.
